Jerry Zane King, 81, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at St. Elizabeth’s Place. He was born November 7, 1940 in Dell to the late James Leslie King and Audrey King.
Jerry has lived in Jonesboro for over 50 years and was of Methodist belief. Jerry served in the United States Army National Guard. He was an avid hunter, a fisherman, and also enjoyed birdwatching. Jerry was part of a large family whom he was very close to.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce King; daughter, Sandy Clayton; brothers, James Wayne King and William Leslie King.
Survivors include brothers, Chuck (Sara) King of Southaven, MS, Stanley (Doris) King of Knoxville, TN, and Tommy (Nancy) King of Hutchinson, KS; sisters, Lynda (Bill) Swanner of West Memphis, Eva (The late Jack) Miller of Jonesboro, Marilyn (Pete) Holland of Jonesboro, and Carol Brigance of Osceola; sisters-in-law, Ann King and Jan King as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2pm with Pastor Brian Beach officiating. Burial will follow at Vanndale Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Chuck King, Tommy King, Michael Brigance, Skip Swanner, Tony Swanner, Jason Swanner, Billy Young and Les King. Honorary pallbearers include David Holmes, Stanley King, Pete Holland, Wes Walker, Roger Gaskins, Wayne Ball, Ben Ball, Bill Swanner.
