William “Jerry” Kimbrell, 83, of Jonesboro departed this life on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR.
Jerry was born in Newport on July 30, 1930 to W. A. “Country” Kimbrell and Lina Mae Burkett-Kimbrell. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Jonesboro, AR. He was retired from ProGroup Golf Bag Manufacturer in Pocahontas, AR. He was an avid farmer and gardener.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Joe and Jim Kimbrell.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bonnie “Sue”Kimbrell; his sister, Lina Jane Stricklin of Jonesboro; his newphew, Andrew Stricklin of Jonesboro; his nephew and niece, Jimmy and Laura Kimbrell of Jonesboro; his niece and nephew, Barbara and Tony Bradley of Jonesboro; and numberof other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Harold Bozarth, Jerry Bozarth, Tim Eaker, Pat Snodgrass, Joe Stallings and David Wimpy.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Bykota Sunday School Class of First Christian Church, Ben Honeycutt, Jim Horne and Shawn Smith.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Services will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Building Fund of First Christian Church, 2600 Woodsprings Road, Jonesboro, AR 72404.
