Jerry Dean Houston, 79 of Jonesboro died May 7 at the Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Born in Jonesboro and lived his lifetime here. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1950. In 1954 he married Erma Knopp from Paragould, and then later married Ki Nam Houston in 1981. He was a die cast operator for GE until 1969, and from 1969 to 1974 he lived in Jacksonville. He moved to Independence Kansas in 1974 where he was a die cast supervisor with Emerson Electric. Then he returned to Jonesboro in 2001. He was a Navy Korean Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mamie Armstrong Houston.
Survived by his wife Ki Nam Houston of the home.
Daughters Kim Houston-Hyman or Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Toni Plake of Phoenix Arizona, and Jerri Haymaker of Dearing Kansas.
Six grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
There will be no visitation.
