Jerry Cooper Heath of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Saint Bernard’s Hospital (Jonesboro), at the age of 78. He was born in Bruno, Arkansas on February 18, 1943 to Waldon and Dee Heath. Jerry was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. He married Tommie Eleanor Lammers on June 19, 1964, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Shortly after marrying Tommie, they moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where he was employed at Baxter International Laboratories for 38 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with friends. He and Tommie not only loved to compete against each other, they played in many tournaments in the surrounding area. Jerry was a lifelong Razorback and NY Yankee fan. In his later years, after moving to Jonesboro, Arkansas, he went on many mission trips to Hungary.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Tommie Heath of 57 years; daughter, Honnye (Ted) Athanasiou; son, Kris (Christina) Heath; grandchildren, Ella and Thomas; brother, Bob (Barbara) Heath; two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Highland Drive Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The visitation will begin at 1:15 p.m. and the service will follow at 2:00 p.m. The memorial service will be live streamed from HDBC.
