Jerry Don Bogard

Jerry Don Bogard, age 56, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 16 in Jonesboro, after a 6 year battle with Prostate Cancer. Jerry was born on December 11, 1956 in Paragould Arkansas to Donald and Nellie Bogard. He graduated from Arkansas State University and worked for the Dallas Police Department for 7 years. In 2001 he left the police department to join the FBI as a special agent. He was stationed in Hawaii, Los Angeles then Dallas in 1998. He retired from the FBI June of 2012.

Jerry enjoyed exercising and going to the gym. He especially loved his animals. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Lynn; his parents Donald and Nellie Bogard of Jonesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Debbie Bogard of Delaware; 2 nieces: Abby Bogard of Delaware, and Brooks Atkinson and her husband Chris of Tennessee; 2 nephews: Stephen and Robert Linkletter of Texas; and 2 great nieces, Mattie Grace and Emma Kate Atkinson of Tennessee and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

We would like to give a special thanks to Robert and Gail Speer for all their love and support during the last couple of weeks and West Clinic in Memphis for fighting hard with us during the last month.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mitch Ford officiating. Tim Harshbarger and Robert Speer will deliver eulogies.

Active pallbearers include Robert Speer, Tim Harshbarger, Mark Osborn, Eddie Morgan, Danny Cook, Bruce Bogard and Jeff Wineland. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the JHS Class of 1975.

Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 in Emerson Chapel.
