Jerry Crump, 76, of Jonesboro, died Monday March 15, 2021 at his home. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1978, moving here from Hot Springs. He was a member of the Jonesboro Baptist Church. Jerry served his country for over 7 years in the US Marine Corp. Earning three Purple hearts, he was medically discharged. He was the Boys Scouts of America District Assistant Leader. Jerry served his community as a member of the Jonesboro Police Reserve. He loved to be as physically active as he could, enjoying fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Joyce Crump, of the home; sons, Jerry Crump II of Jonesboro; Tommy Crump and wife Patti of Searcy; Joey Crump and his wife Aimee of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Joseph Crump, Trey Crump, T.J. Crump, Nathan Gosha, Madison Crump, Autumn Crump and Maggie Crump; one great grandchild, Alanna Ward.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, March 22, 2021, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Tim Whitfield officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A committal service will be 2:00 Monday, March 22, 2021, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, with military honors. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 Monday morning prior to the service.
