Jerry Wayne Bishop

Jerry Wayne Bishop, 71, of Cash, passed from this life on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Jerry was born in Cash and lived most of his life there. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed gardening, fishing and small-engine repair. Jerry was a member of Stone Ridge Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his parents: Homer Raymond Bishop and Wilma Irene Todd Bishop; daughter Coach Jennifer Bishop Jordan; infant son Jerry L. Bishop, and brother Bill Bishop.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Merritt Bishop of the home;

son and daughter-in-law: Micky and Melinda Bishop of Swifton;

3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Homer Junior and Rose Bishop of Cash, Tommy C. and Brenda Bishop of Cave City, and Paul E. and Becky Bishop of Jonesboro;

5 grandchildren: Kaitlyn Bishop, Abbie Bishop, Daelyn Bishop, Lilly Bishop and Austin Shipman; and

2 great grandchildren: Maddie Lynn and Rayella Rose.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Bishop Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 preceding the funeral service.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to a local military veterans organization to assist local veterans.
