Jerry Wayne Beal

January 12, 1946 — September 3, 2020

Jerry Wayne Beal, 74, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan, but moved as an infant to Rector with his family where he lived his early life and graduated  Rector High School in 1964. He was a 1968 graduate of Arkansas State University and worked 37 years for Sears in Jonesboro, retiring as a department manager.

Jerry was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was a member of the Agape Sunday school class. He was a Master Gardner,  past member of Jonesboro Jaycees and enjoyed traveling with his family. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents,  William LaVan and Geraldine Travillan Beal.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Kelly Beal, of the home, married August 15, 1965;

2 daughters and their husbands: Kristy and Chris Scarbrough of Bartlett, Tennessee, and

Ginger and Shane Mason of Madison, Mississippi;

6 grandchildren: Morgan Kelly, Justin Bedard, Lauren Scarbrough, Logan Scarbrough, Natalie Mason and Sarah Mason; and

2 great grandchildren: Avery Bedard and Rylan Kobas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Private burial will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Honorary pallbearers include members of his Agape Sunday school class.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
