Jerrel Wayne Eads, 76, of Trumann, passed from this life on Friday, May 4, 2018, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born July 7, 1941 in Promised Land, Arkansas to the late Braddie and Mabel Eads.
Jerrel has lived in the Trumann area for over 20 years after retiring from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer where he served from 1960-1980 and worked for Dupont from 1981-1998.
He served his country as an aircraft crew member during the Vietnam War flying upwards of 40 missions from the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. He also served as a flight deck crewman on the aircraft carrier USS Midway while stationed in Yokosuka, Japan during the 1970’s.
Jerrel was also a longtime member of The Shepherd’s Chapel Church in Gravette, Arkansas. He enjoyed computers, working on electronics and spending time with his grandkids. He loved life.
In addition to his parents, Jerrel is preceded in death by one brother, Elvis Eads.
Jerrel is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara, of the home; son, Tim (Karen) Eads of Jonesboro; daughter, Renee (David) Keck of Salem; grandchildren, Evan Eads and Craig Eads; and one very special brother in law, Mike McDaniel.
A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held 2pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Arkanas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas with Brad Aiken and Danny Seay officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McDaniel, David Keck, Evan Eads, Craig Eads, Michael Oren McDaniel, Roy Coleman and Joe McGrath, MD.
