Jenny Shell, age 41, of Jonesboro, AR, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed unexpectedly from this life and joined her Savior in Heaven on Wednesday, December 22, at 12:19 AM at St. Bernard Hospital - Jonesboro with her family by her side.
She was born in Evansville, IN, on January 3, 1980. She was an honors graduate of Evansville Bosse High School. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Church Music from Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR, and a Master’s degree in Music Theory from University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR. Jenny was an Adjunct Professor in Music at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, AR. Jenny loved to garden, loved to sing in choirs, and loved to play hand bells. Jenny was a member of the Melody Bells during her high school years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Norma (Peterson) Wyber of Evansville, IN, her grandparents, Rev. Don and Grace Peterson of Evansville, IN, and her aunts Donna Peterson and Joyce (Peterson) Kimmel.
She is survived by her loving husband Joel Shell of 16 years, father Jeff Wyber of Evansville, IN, brother Jeff (Alan) Wyber II of Newburgh, IN, uncles Paul Peterson and John Peterson; and numerous cousins, niece, and nephews.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, AR from 12:30-2:00 PM on Saturday, January 1, 2022 and a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM at the church. Masks and social distancing will be required.
