Jeffrey Daniel Moore, 64, of Lake City, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Born on November 16, 1959, in San Diego, California, Jeff was the cherished son of the late Bill and Sandy Moore.
Jeff dedicated much of his life to his craft as a small engine repairman, showcasing his skills at Bumper to Bumper Automotive and as a long-time employee of Battery and Parts Warehouse. His work was more than just a job; it was an expression of his innate ability to fix anything, a talent that earned him the reputation of a true tinkerer.
A proud veteran, Jeff served in the United States Marines, carrying the values of discipline and perseverance into all aspects of his life. His passions extended beyond his work—he was an avid collector of unique items, including Hot Wheels, soda bottles, and old video games, each piece a testament to his love for the unusual and the nostalgic.
Jeff was known for his love of bartering and haggling, always finding joy in the art of negotiation. His knack for making deals was evident in one of his most memorable transactions—selling a motorcycle and shipping it all the way to England.
Jeffrey Daniel Moore will be remembered not only for his skills and collections but for his warm personality, his wit, and his ability to find value in the little things. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and the joy of a life well-lived.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Moore of the home; sons, Wesley Moore (Michelle) of Brookland and Aaron Richey (Jessica) of Hoxie; daughters, Alyssa Smith of Oklahoma, Sunnie Smith of Oklahoma, and Elizabeth Tate of Jonesboro; brothers, Mike Moore of Washington and Dave Moore of Cushing, Oklahoma; and sister, Donna Roberts (Cody) of Cushing, Oklahoma. Jeff also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
