Jeannette Morgan, 69, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born February 5, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas to the late Gerald and Juanita Cheshier. Jeannette was a Christian of the Baptist faith and attended Central Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Faith Bible Institute. Jeannette spent the past 15 years in scripture study and spread His word in her own quiet way. She took on as her mission to buy cases of bibles and scripture studies and donated them to various churches in the mission field. She always said, “I’m not a great speaker and stumble during public praying. But, I can still help spread God’s word”. It was a special moment being able to accompany her to deliver them. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Jeannette was the owner and operator of J. Morgan Incense for over 30 years. Prior to being a businesswoman, Jeannette worked at Jonesboro Sun and ABM, American Business Machines. In her 40’s she was a professional seamstress and decorator. Jeannette enjoyed hunting, scuba diving, playing guitar, traveling to various countries and relaxing on the beach. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Clem Morgan and son, Jonathan “Smiley” Morgan.

Survivors include her daughter, Dia (John) Sawyer; sister, Jerri McClard (Stan) McMillin; 8 grandchildren: Caleb Sawyer, Justus (Megan) Sawyer, Ezekiel (Lynette) Sawyer, Lola Sawyer, Jude Sawyer, Eva Sawyer, Keane Sawyer, Sophie Sawyer; 5 great grandchildren; 1 niece, Shellie (Brad) Barnett; 5 nephews; Wayne (Lesa) McClard, Michael (Elizabeth) Morgan, Kevin Morgan, Brian (Jennifer) Morgan, Stephen (Lauren) Morgan and many special friends including: Donnie Rickard, Sherry Rickard and Holly Rickard all of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
