Jeanette “Jan” Kay Rainey, 88, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born September 4, 1937 in Little Rock to JD and Edna McPherson.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Edna McPherson.

She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Rainey Jr of the home; son, Steve (Leah) Rainey of Kent, Ohio; daughter, Paula Browning of Jonesboro; sister, Marie Russell of Youngsville, Louisiana; grandchildren, David Browning, Laura Hennings, Scott Rainey, John Browning and Lyndon Rainey and 7 great-grandchildren as well as one niece and one nephew.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
