Jeanette D. (Eatmon) George was born July 20, 1941, in Osceola, AR to J. D. and Bonnie Eatmon. She passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 83. She married Calvin Wesley George on November 10, 1958. She and Calvin had five sons, Calvin Wesley, Jr., James Wesley, Michael Wayne, Ronald David, and Timothy Scot. Jeanette’s primary job and joy was being a homemaker for her husband and her sons. After the boys got to school age, she worked for the Wynne Public Schools. Jeanette and Calvin lived in Blytheville, Brinkley, and Wynne. The family lived in Wynne for 34 years which is considered their hometown. Calvin and Jeanette were long-time members of Wynne Baptist Church. After Calvin’s death in 2004, she moved to Jonesboro to live close to her sons that lived there.
Jeanette was a devoted wife who loved and served her husband with an amazing love. She was affectionately called momma by her boys when they were young, and it grew into a greater admiration and appreciation as they got older to calling her mom. Her best title and talent and treasure was Grandma. She was an amazing grandmother to her grandchildren and their friends and then to the great-grandchildren. She was certainly the hub around which her family gathered. She grew closer to the Lord the older she got and learned an even greater dependency on Christ out of her own personal necessity and God’s amazing grace in her life. She lived this last lap of her life anticipating a reunion with her husband, her baby, parents, siblings, and others who through their faith in Jesus have gone before her.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Calvin, her infant son, Calvin Wesley, Jr., her parents, J. D. and Bonnie Eatmon; her sisters Etta Jean Walker, Carolyn McConaghey, one brother, Lynn Steven Eatmon.
She is survived by four sons Wes (Lisa), Mike (Tracy), Ron (Lori), and Scot (Tessa); a sister Joan Crowson; a brother James D. Eatmon, Jr.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with more on the way.
