Jean Wyatt passed away at the age of 79, on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was born in Murdo, South Dakota to Walter and Marian Hampton. Jean received her BSN at Arkansas State University. Jean retired from St. Bernards Regional Medical Center after 27 years of working as an RN in General Surgery and Heart Surgery.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 51 years, Dr. William V Wyatt, brother Walter Lee Hampton and great grandson William "Billy" H. Wyatt Jr.
Survivors include three sons, William (Marsha) Wyatt of Jonesboro; Richard (Donna) Wyatt of Sherwood, Arkansas; Stephen (Sheila) Wyatt of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Debbie Gallant (Mark Schroeder) of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee; one brother, Larry Hampton; two sisters, Joan Dyer, and Virginia Reid; two grandsons, Eric Wyatt and Will Wyatt; and two great grandchildren, Wendeigh and Ashlyn Wyatt.
While Jean dedicated much of her time raising their four children, she devoted much of her time as an RN at St. Bernards. Countless times in her life, Jean visited patients of family and friends in the hospital. Her care and concern for people was evident in the life she led. She was known for her love of family, her tireless work ethic, her joyous spirit, and her shared affection among a large circle of friends. As the wife of ASU Chemistry Professor, Dr. Wyatt, they attended many of the University’s games and events throughout many years. She most recently loved attending ASU’s Girls Basketball games. Jean love playing Bridge with her friends of many years.
Jean was known by her children and their countless friends as Jean, Momma Jean, and Jean Machine. But her most cherished names were Wife, Mom, Grandma, Grammy, Sister and Aunt Jean. She was loved by all who met her. She will be sorely missed by her family.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2010 at Emerson Funeral Home. All other services will be private.
