Jean Stacy Heringer passed away peacefully, February 19, 2019 at NEA Baptist Hospital. Jean was born April 6, 1921. She was married to the love of her life Albert Heringer who died April 11, 1988. Her parents were Zoe Dodson and John Latham Stacy. She grew up in Dell, Arkansas and attended the University of Mississippi where she was the first freshman Queen in 1939. Married to Al Heringer April 2, 1942 and living in Jonesboro, Arkansas they raised four children who were the joy of their lives. She stayed involved with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren until her last day. After Al’s retirement she was fortunate to live in Marco Island, Florida in the winter and Jonesboro in the summer and they made frequent trips home for special occasions involving their loving family. She entertained her family and friends in Marco and Jonesboro for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sister. Brothers were Latham, Dick, and Allen and her sister was Rose.
Survivors are her daughter, Sherry and Larry Grisham and their children, Paige (David) Revis, Ed (Missy) Grisham, daughter Jill and Larry James and their children Seth, and Sloan (Kristina) James, son Al and Pam Heringer and their children, Al IV (Heather) Heringer, Ryan (Sarah) Heringer, Bradley (Amanda) Heringer and daughter Stacy and Ron Burnett and their children Ron (Melanie) Burnett, Jesse (Lindsay) Burnett and Jeanne (Joseph) Bailey. Also surviving are 18 great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a thank you to her special friend and caregiver Kathryn French. Also to her physician, Dr. Mike Isaacson and all other Doctors and nurses from both hospitals over the years. You helped make a wonderful life for our very special lady.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 22, 2019 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend Patty Soward officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM, until service time. Burial will be private.
