Jean Smith Goforth

Jean Thomas Smith Goforth, 88, of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Monette Manor.

Jean was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro. She was a homemaker and member of First Freewill Baptist Church where she worked in Vacation Bible School for many years. Jean was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed square dancing.

Jean busied herself canning and preserving food and sewing for her family. She also enjoyed activities with her family and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jess and Maude Nelson Thomas; husbands Donald Smith and Marvin Goforth; sons Gary Don Smith and Joel Smith; and brothers John and Carroll Thomas.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Cari Formon of Jonesboro and Ana Smith of Hot Springs;
1 brother and his wife, Harvey and Mary Thomas of Jonesboro;
4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kevin Barnett officiating. Private burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 until service time.
