Ruby Imogene “Jean” Gentry, 88, of Jonesboro,  passed from this life on Sunday June 16th 2024 at St.Bernards Medical center.  Born in Tulot Arkansas on May 3rd 1936, to the late Baudie and Bethel Shempert, Jean lived a rich and fulfilling life as a Homemaker and loving mother to her Two beautiful children Terry Riley and her daughter.

A lover of music and the arts she especially loved Elvis and country music. She Enjoyed reading novels such as flowers in the attic by V.C. Andrews. She loved to keep her mind sharp by engaging in crossword puzzles and having intelligent conversations with people of different backgrounds. Jean found the most joy in her life with Family enjoying every special moment she shared with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She loved visiting flea markets to find exceptional Treasures, while still being made up as she loved to have her Hair and makeup done.

She is Preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years and love of her life Malcolm Riley, and her Second husband of 17 years Bill Gentry. Also preceded in death by her brothers Billy Pankey, B.J. Shempert, Bobby Lee Shempert, Sisters Inez Riley, Juanita Rook, Sharon Rook, and Joy Ann Warren, as well as one Great Granddaughter Avalon Zakareah Riley.

Jean is survived by her loving Son, Terry Michael Riley (Amanda). Her adoring Grandchildren Zachariah Riley (Shilah) and Amberly Riley; her cherished Great Grandchildren, Audreyanna Riley, Kiernan Riley, CJ Jones, Lili Riley, and Dj Riley.

There will be a crossover in which any of her family that would like to attend are welcome as all she wanted in life was for her family to come together.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either The Lake City Food bank 104 Main St. Lake City Ar 72437 as Jean was so proud of her son’s work to help the community, or the NEA Autism Association 1702 stone street Jonesboro Ar 72401 as she had 2 great grandchildren that were helped by this.
