Jean-Griffin Caldwell died peacefully August 4, 2014. She lived in Jonesboro her
entire life. She loved life and lived it to its' fullest.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Hoyte Caldwell, her parents Gordon & Jewel
Griffin, a sister Wanda Wood, and a brother Ruben Griffin.
She was member of First Christian Church in Jonesboro where she was a former deaconess and
a member of the By Kota Sunday school class. She was a member Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a
member of AAUW (Arkansas Association of University Women), and a member of Friends of the
Jonesboro Public Library. She was an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her loving son, Carroll Caldwell, her grandson San Caldwell (and wife
Courtney), her great-grandson, Cannon, her brother Ralph Griffin, and a sister Marion Griffin
Campbell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The private graveside service for the family only will be held 9:00 am, Thursday, August 7,2014
at the McDaniel Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. Immediately following will be a lasting memorial
to be held at 10:00 am at the First Christian Church on 2600 Woodsprings Road with Bob
Palmer officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Curtis Griffin, David Griffin, Steve Griffin, Tony Griffin, Bill Caldwell &
Butch Warren.
