Jean Burns

Jean Burns, 82, of Jonesboro, formerly of Maryville, TN passed from this life Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jonesboro Hospice House. She was born December 2, 1934 in Knoxville, TN to the late Rev. Sidney Staley Sr. and Zetta (Staley) Connatser. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents Jean was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Bates, and Edna Gregory; two brothers, William Sidney Staley Jr. and Jerry Staley.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dr. John L. Burns of Jonesboro; son, Alan (Susan) Burns of Jonesboro; daughter, Martha (Tommy) Strickland of Munford, TN; two brothers, Charles (Helen) Staley of Maryville TN, David (Betty) Staley of Friendsville TN; sister, Judy (David) McNeilly of Murrayville, GA; four grandchildren: Ashely (Blake) Vickers of Conway, Matthew Burns of Jonesboro, Madison Burns of Highland, and Micheal Lee Collins of Conway and two great grandchildren, Saylor Vickers and Vivian Vickers.
