J.D. Crocker

June 30, 1935 — April 14, 2007

J.D. Crocker, 71, of Jonesboro, died Saturday morning at his home. He was a life long resident of Jonesboro. He was a man of many talents. He was a furniture maker, a natural craftsman, and loved to work with his hands. He was a retired maintenance mechanic at Dupont, where he loved his job.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Hettie Turner Crocker, 2 brothers, Ralph Crocker and John Crocker, and a sister, Dorothy Montgomery.

Mr. Crocker is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Crocker of the home. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Karen Crocker, Pocahontas, Terry & Joni Crocker, Memphis, Randy Crocker, Beebe; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Terry Baker, Jonesboro, Sandra & Ike Ross, Poteau, Oklahoma; and his sisters, Vera Hamilton, Jonesboro, Roberta Cook, Bradford, Geneva Hager, Jonesboro, Brenda Crocker, Jonesboro, and Sue Parent, Bentonville. Mr. Crocker is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, Tracey Crocker, Anthony Crocker, Sara Crocker, Ross Crocker, Kevin Roush, Pamela Roush, Jeremy Crocker, Jacob Crocker, Jeron Crocker, Jodi Crocker, Amy Beth Ginder, Drew Crocker, Jason Johansen; and his 4 great-grandchildren, Emme Ginder, Jacob Crocker, Jr., Hayden Roush, and Brandt Crocker. He is further survived and will be missed by his 2 loving pets, Barny and Molly.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m.at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Ernest Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Crocker’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
