J.D. Cohn, 82, of Lake City, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Mayfield, Kentucky, J.D. moved to Lake City in 1940. He was a retired truck driver for Delta Farms and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his father: Logan Cohn; his mother: Lela Cohn Smith; and his step father: Clyde C. Smith.
Survivors include:
His loving wife, Lois Hawkins Cohn of the home;
2 Sons and daughter-in-law: Ricky Dale and Lea Cohn of Monette, and
David Cohn of Lake City;
3 Daughters and sons-in-law: Debra and Jesse Zavala of Jonesboro,
Donna and Bobby Turner of Tyler, Texas, and
Melissa Cohn of Dallas;
1 Sister: June Culbreath of Jonesboro;
2 Step Sisters: Heather Jean Click of Memphis, and
Mercedese Darr of Mountain Home;
3 Grandsons: Lane Cohn, Jay Cohn and Josh Longmire;
1 Granddaughter and her husband: Devon and Justin Scott; and
2 Great Grandchildren: Kanyn and Kason Scott.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Pastor Sean Milliken officiating. Burial will follow in Lake City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Tim Culbreath, Paul Culbreath, Jimmy Hawkins,
Scottie Hawkins, Lane Cohn and Josh Longmire.
Honorary pallbearers include: Bobby Turner, Jessie Zavala, Justin Scott, Red Qualls and Jackie Williams.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
