J.C. Mahon

March 28, 1927 — February 21, 2006

J. C. Mahon, 78 of Jonesboro died Tuesday night, February 21, 2006 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas and lived most of his life in Jonesboro and was a Manager of Riceland Food for 45 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was on the Farm Bureau Board and the former Mercantile Bank Board, the Regions Bank Board and a past president of the Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard and was active in the Exchange Club, Catfish Club and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Katie Merriman and J. J. Griffith

1 niece and 3 nephews.

A memorial service will be 3:00 PM Friday at First Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Tippit officiating and Eulogist, Max Alexander. Burial will be private and Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Honorary pallbearers are Rev. Emil Williams, Lloyd Shook, Max Alexander, Leon Kirksey, Doris Griffin, Ben Griffin, Roy Secrease, Lee Lindsey, Judge Gerald Person, Hoyt Caldwell, Frank Cole, the Fellowship Sunday Class, Exchange Club, Catfish Club, current and retired employees of Riceland Foods, and Larry Morgan.
