Jay Goodman

Jay “Goody” Goodman, 74, of Jonesboro died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He lived most of his life in Jonesboro and was a member of the Windover Baptist Church. Jay was past president of the Jonesboro Lions Club and received the Lions President Award for Exceptional Leadership and Devoted Service and the Edward Dalstrum Distinguished Service Award. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Jay is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Mona, of the home; one son Ron Goodman and wife Jennifer of Conway, Arkansas; daughters, Sharron Haggenmacher and husband Scott of Jonesboro; Melinda DeRoeck and husband, Roger, Austin, Texas; one brother Vondus Goodman, Jonesboro; one sister Glenda Robbins, Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 26, 2009 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Winford Bridges officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Joe Mack Campbell, Max Dacus, Jay Gamblin, Alec Farmer, Bill Hansard and Butch Goodman. Visitation will be from 3 – 5 Sunday at the funeral home.
