Jay Andrew Cunningham, 41 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Sunday morning, July 9, 2017 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Memphis to E.J. and Ila F. Watkins Cunningham on October 29, 1975 and later moved to Jonesboro. Jay always wanted to make sure others knew how important they were to him. He was passionate about many things; he loved his babies, Liam and Lyla more than anything. He also loved to play his guitar and sing. He loved to play and watch sports like tennis, golf, football and basketball and always rooted for the lefty. Jay had wanted to be an organ donor and was able to fulfill that desire. He was a truck driver in his family business, J&W Cartage, Inc., for all of his working life.
Jay leaves behind his loving wife of 8 years, Tiffany of the home; his son, Liam James Cunningham; daughter, Lyla Kaye Cunningham of the home; parents, E.J. and Ila Cunningham of Jonesboro; brother, Douglas Wade Cunningham and wife Leah of Fayetteville; in-laws, Terry and Kelly Presley of Jonesboro. He leaves behind numerous loved family and friends. Jay was a member at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
There will be a memorial service Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 5:30 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jason Lincoln officiating.
Pallbearers include: Brian Erwin, Chris Wilson, Bart Smith, Brandon Smith, Forrest Grisham, Jerrod Grisham, Blake Rogers and Wade Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers include: Scott Brewer, Jason Brewer, Bryan Dent, Penne Black, Sam Parsons, Michael Baker, Chad Render, Kyle Presley and Steve Watkins.
