Daniel Jason McDonald, 42, of Jonesboro, died from injuries sustained in a bicycle-vehicle accident on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, on County Road 766 north of Jonesboro.
Born in London, Ontario, Canada, Jason was a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland and moved to Paragould, Arkansas, in 1999. He was a systems architect and enjoyed cycling and ham radios. Jason enjoyed playing ice hockey and was active with the Mid-South Amateur Hockey Association which played in the Memphis area. He also enjoyed playing roller hockey in Jonesboro with his friends.
His favorite professional ice hockey team is the Toronto Maple Leafs and his favorite professional football team is the Dallas Cowboys. Jason was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy McDonald, Paternal grandparents George and Catherine McDonald, and Maternal grandparents Alexander and Effie MacIsaac.
Survivors include his wife, Aimee King McDonald; 1 daughter, Emily Miller, 20; 2 sons, Alex McDonald, 7, and Ethan McDonald, 5, all of the home;
his parents, Daniel "Butch" and Isabell MacIsaac McDonald of Gardiner Mines, Nova Scotia;
1 brother and sister-in-law: Brian McDonald and Barb Klefas of Kitchener, Ontario;
1 sister and brother-in-law: Michelle and Vincent "Boo" Cameron of Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia;
2 nephews: Blake Cameron of Reserve Mines and Gregory McDonald of Kitchener;
1 niece, Kadence McDonald of Kitchener;
his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Larry and Brenda King of Ravenden; and
a sister-in-law, Renae King of Paragould.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church, 3707 Harrisburg Road in Jonesboro.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Boling officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery of Bono, AR with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers include Drew Scurlock, Brian Stanley, John Baldwin, Scott Wheat, Scott Meeler, Anthony Dail, Shawn Collette and Jeffrey Whidden.
Honorary pallbearers include J.R. MacArthur, Rob Campbell, Darren MacNeil, and Chad MacNeil.
