Janie Sue Nierstheimer, 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her home. She was born to the late John and Bernice Tatum on November 18, 1947 in Jonesboro. Janie lived most of her life residing in the Jonesboro area and was of the Christian belief.
She was a avid reader who loved shopping for a bargain, going to flea markets and thrift Stores. She enjoyed spending time and cutting up with those who knew her best.
In addition to her parents, Janie is preceded in death by her husband, Phil Nierstheimer; long time companion, Leonard Reeder; brothers, James Tatum, Gary Tatum, and Earnest Tatum; sisters, Helen Gill and Princess Ryan; and daughter, Sheila Clark.
Janie is survived by three daughters, Susan (Ty) Adams of Bono, Tracy (Andy) Gossett of Jonesboro, and Amy Williams (Anna Hawkins) of Farmington; brother, Bill (Pat) Tatum of Waterloo, Iowa; sister, Bobbie (Bill) Lawrence Waterloo, Iowa; grandchildren, Kaytlyn Adams, Connor Gossett, Avery Gossett, Aubrey Williams, Julien Hawkins, and Jaxson Hawkins; and special friend, Al Wardlow.
A visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Nettleton Cemetery with Mike Blackwood officiating. Active pallbearers will include: Andy Gossett, Ty Adams, Spencer Wilson, Mark Brinkley, Billy Forkum, and Randy Knuckles. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Tatum and Al Wardlow.
