Janice Carol Mather of Bay, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the age of 82. She was born to the late Carl Goldman and Hazel Brown on June 15, 1938 in Denver, Colorado and was a graduate of South Shore High School in Chicago, IL.
Janice had a masters in Library Science and was a librarian at Cicero Public Library in Illinois. She was a member of several clubs including the movie club, multiple book clubs, stitch and bitch club, bridge club and a stamping club. Janice had several hobbies including reading, hand making cards, baking, traveling, playing the piano, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed making slime so much she was known as the “Slime Queen”. Most of all Janice was a devoted Mom, Grams, and GiGi.
In addition to her parents Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Vernon Mather.
She is survived by one son, Adam (Kelly) Mather of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Jennifer (James) Novalick of Bay; one brother, Paul “Jerry” (Becky) Goldman of Pekin, IL; five grandchildren, Connie Novalick, Kim Novalick, Jessi (Jeremy) Elinkowski, McKinley Ellison, and Karlie Ellison- Jones; four great-grandchildren, Andria Lowery, Jacelynn Lowery, Jaxen Cornish, and Maverick Morgan.
Family will be holding a Celebration of Life April 26, 2021 at Craighead Forrest Park.
