Life & Legacy
Janette was born on November 10, 1966, in Hot Springs, AR, to Ellen T. and Walter B. Strong.
A dedicated student, she attended Arkansas State University and graduated from Hot Springs
High School.
A lifelong learner, Janette was passionate about helping others, leading her to a career in social
work in Jonesboro, AR, until her illness. Her heart for service was evident in her dedication to
mentoring and volunteer work. She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., where
she lived out the values of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood.
Faith was central to Janette’s life. She first professed her faith in Hot Springs, AR, and later
helped grow her sister’s church, New Life Christian Fellowship in Malvern, AR, all while
remaining deeply connected to her spiritual home at First Baptist Church, Jonesboro, AR.
Family & Loved Ones
Janette is survived by:
● Cousin: Harold E. Turks Sr. (Nashville, TN)
● Nephews: Stephen Carroll (Hot Springs, AR), Jonathan Carroll (Seattle, WA)
● Niece: Candace Forbes (Texas)
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister, Rev. Rosanna S. Carroll, and
brother, Carvil B. Strong.
Celebration of Life
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Historic Visitors
Chapel A.M.E. Church, 319 Church St, Hot Springs, AR. 71901.

that Jan is reunited with her mother, sister, and brother, resting in eternal love.
