Janette Hendrix

March 5, 1946 — September 24, 2024

Carrie Janette "Net" Hendrix, 78, of Jonesboro, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Janette moved with her family in the late 1940s to the Jonesboro area and was a 1964 graduate of Jonesboro High School. Following graduation, Janette began a longtime  career as a Legal Assistant in Jonesboro. She worked several years in the Douglas Bradley Law Firm and following his retirement, joined her sister Maydean as a Legal Assistant in the Bristow-Richardson Law firm. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church.

Janette enjoyed her vegetable garden, maintaining a neat yard, playing the piano and gospel music.  She loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church and being with her Sunday school class members. To know Janette was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Elbert, Sr. and Mable Harris Hendrix, sister Maydean Boyd, little brother Elbert Hendrix, Jr., and brothers-in-law: Glen Witt and John Pollard.

Survivors include her long-time devoted friend, Bobby Hester of Jonesboro;

5 Sisters and brothers-in-law: Novalee and Frank Burrell of Jonesboro, Dorothy and Walter Woods of Springfield, Missouri, Loretta Witt of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, Wilma Pollard of Maumelle, and Brenda and Gary Griffin of Paragould; and many nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jay Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery near Bono. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 10:00 until service time.

Active pallbearers are Charles Allen Hester, Matt Shackelford, Bobby Kirksey, Mike Causey, Brent Woods and Curtis Pridy. Honorary pallbearers include Gary Griffin, Walter Woods, Bobby Boyd and Frank Burrell.
