Janet Dunn Bowman White, 89, of Jonesboro passed away on June 30, 2017 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House with family by her side.
She was born May 20, 1928 in Lake Village, AR to the late Hazel and Clifford Dunn and raised by Gladys and George Dunn.
She was a true Southern Christian Lady of many talents.
She was a member of First Baptist Church for the last 18 years, serving in many capacities, including Sunday school teacher, WMU officer, and on numerous committees. She was an avid quilter, cook, and bookreader.
She is survived by husband, Jess White of Jonesboro AR; son, George Bowman of TN; daughter, Chery Cratty of TN; grandson, Seth Robinson and wife Asheley; great grandchildren Graham and Natalie, of TN; three stepdaughters: Cynthia and Steve Brown of FL, and their daughters Kristin Brown and Laura Brown; Nancy and Kevin Coriden of KS and their children Ellen Bergstrom and Sam Coriden; Martha and Jeff Rettig of MO and their daughters Kate Rettig and Megan Rettig; sister: Marilyn and Darrell Boyer of TN; three brothers, Clifford Dunn, Jr of TX, Tommy Dunn of MS, and Bob Griffin of LA; and numerous nieces and nephews across the States.
Funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with longtime friend from college days at Ouachita Baptist, Dr. Emil Williams, officiating.
Soloist will be son in law; Dr. Steve Brown, to be accompanied by Pianist, Barbara Ford.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Interment will be private, taking place in Huntsville, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Jan be sent to the Care Center at First Baptist Church, or, to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, both in Jonesboro.
