Janelle G. Seat, 71, of Jonesboro, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 26, 2024. A life-long resident of Jonesboro, she was born on August 1, 1952, to Claude and Brownie Gibson. She served her community as a pastor’s wife and was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was an active member of Women’s Missionary Association (WMA). She served as the pianist/organist for the churches her husband pastored. She developed children’s programs for Vacation Bible School (VBS). Janelle was a member of the Oak Grove Extension Club. Some of her other hobbies included ceramics, cooking, reading, flower gardening and Bible Study Fellowship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister-in-law.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Don Seat, of the home; daughters, Kandi Rodriguez and husband Robert; Elisa Kifer and husband Phillip, all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Gabriella, Madilyn, and Collin; and a life-long dear friend, Deborah Angel.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jerry Jolly and Randy Stimach officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dennis Ball, Harold Bozarth, Gary Loggins, Larry Ransone, and Marshall Morrison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Turman, Gay Manus, Ricky Brown and the graduating class of Valley View 1970. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
