Jan Noles Brannan

Jan Noles Brannan, 80, of Jonesboro, passed away on March 17, 2025 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born on October 4, 1944 in Jonesboro to Charles and Helen Noles.

A longtime resident of northeast Arkansas, Jan and her family moved to Mammoth Spring in 1974 and returned to Jonesboro in 1992. She was of the Baptist belief. Jan was a 1963 graduate of Jonesboro High School. After high school, she graduated from LaVera’s beauty school in Jonesboro, beginning a 60-year career as a hairdresser. She shared her talents with the residents of The Bungalows, cutting and styling their hair. She worked for Cosmoprof for many years and participated in Look Good Feel Better, helping women recently diagnosed with cancer learn how to apply makeup and style their hair. Jan was also active in a local breast cancer survivors’ group and found comfort in sharing her journey with others.

Jan loved traveling and going on cruises with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. Jan was also known for her wonderful cooking, keeping her family well-fed throughout the years. In recent years, Jan also developed a love of coloring. Above all else, Jan loved her family and treasured time spent together.

In addition to her parents, Jan is preceded in death by her daughter, Jodie Rae Brannan and Don Brannan.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Brent) Long of Jonesboro, Jill (Paul) Peterson of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Angie (Bobby) Couch of Jonesboro; brother, Charles “Dwight” Noles; sisters, Virginia Fielder and Robin Ross. She is the beloved Mammie to her grandchildren, Drake Long, Brielle Rowlan, Paytan Peterson, Zachary Couch, Shelby Couch and great-grandson, Brenson Rowlan. Jan is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
