James Edward Widgeon, 69, of Jonesboro passed from his life on 1.14.2022 at home. He was born to the late Martha Christene Widgeon of Wedowee, Alabama, William Henry Widgeon, Sr of Columbus, Georgia.
He loved tinkering and fixing anything that is electrical and electronics. He also loved collecting pens and pads from everywhere he went.
James had an Honorable discharge from the NAVY-USN and served on the USS DETROIT as a 632-ORDANCE MECHANIC from 11/1974 to 7/1978
James was a member of Trinity Church in Jonesboro. He missed very much his brothers and sisters from The PowerBus days which he loved, he talked about PowerBus Church Program all the time and wished it would come back.
Survivors included, his wife of 41 years, Merry Addis Ortman Widgeon; Daughter Theresa Garrett Tatum; Son-in-law Courtney Tatum; Grandchildren: Bailey Tatum, (his spouse Stefhanie Tatum); Braxten Tatum, (his spouse Alexis Tatum); and Bella Jane Tatum and Sister Delores Christine Widgeon Grier of Columbus, Georgia; Sister-in-laws Janice Freeman, Peggy Widgeon and two Nieces and Nephew of Columbus, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Griffice Freeman, William Henry Widgeon Jr, all of Columbus, Georgia, and dogs which he loved Blacky, Benji, and Jenny.
