James "Vaughn" Lavaughn Roach

James Lavaughn “Vaughn” Roach, 89, of Jonesboro went to be with the lord Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home. He was born October 29, 1930 in Sandtown, AR to the late Ted and Thelma Roach.

Vaughn has lived in Jonesboro since 1967 after moving here with the power company. He worked for Arkansas Power and Light (Entergy) as a lineman for over 38 years. Vaughn was a member of the Nettleton Community Church, which is a campus of First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro. He loved gardening and being out in the yard as well as fishing and bird hunting in his early years.

In addition to his parents, Vaughn is preceded in death by a brother, Averil Roach, Averil’s wife, Peggy Roach, and their daughter Delores Roach.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Roach of the home; sons, Ronald Roach and Terry Roach both of Memphis, TN; stepchildren, Sherri (Donald) Bearden of Jonesboro and Tim (Misako) Moore of Menifee, CA; brother, Thurvon Roach of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Ionna Hess of Batesville and Floy Griggs of Elkins as well as 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
