James Cleon Stevens

March 15, 1938 — August 24, 2023

James Cleon Stevens (Jim) went to his heavenly home on August 24, 2023, at the age of 85, surrounded by his wife of 59 years, Martha Stevens, and his three favorite daughters, Gina Wagner, Holly Corter, and Katherine Tippy.

Lovingly known as Daddy, Grandpa, Big Jim, and Big Bear, Jim was born on March 15,1938, to Emily Igleheart Stevens and Charles Stevens in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Jim had one brother who preceded him in death, Thomas (Tom) Stevens.

Jim moved to Arkansas in 1962 where he served in the Air Force working on B-52s at Eaker Air Force Base on the alert pad. He owned the Blytheville Shell Station for 6 years and also worked as an auto mechanic. Jim loved everyone, but he loved you even more if you shared his passion for Mopar and would talk for hours with you about anything hot rod related.

Jim had a lifelong love for deviled eggs, chicken livers, sweet tea, grilled burgers, and steaks. His love for his family was even greater, and we will remember many trips with him to his favorite restaurant, Casa Maya.

Jim left 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren that he was so proud of and cherished dearly. He was loved for 85 years, 5 months, and 9 days and will be forever remembered by many.

A private family memorial service will be held at Emerson Funeral Home.
