James R. (Jim) (Benny) Throgmorton, 75, of Ravenden, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Leachville, James lived much of his life in the Jonesboro area before moving to Ravenden in 1994. He was a retired Maintenance Mechanic for DuPont and was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. James was preceded in death by his parents: Roy M. and Louise Wright Throgmorton; by 1 brother: Edward Thomas Throgmorton; and by 2 sisters: Alice Throgmorton and Dortha Throgmorton.
Survivors include:
His wife: Shirley Earls Throgmorton of the home;
2 Sons: Toby Throgmorton, and
Johnny Throgmorton, both of Harrisburg;
1 Daughter: Sherrye Lind of Ravenden;
2 Sisters: Joyce Mize, and
Polly Earnhart, both of Jonesboro;
4 Grandchildren: April Harbison, Amanda Harbison, Sarah Lind and Jessica Lind; and
3 Great Grandchildren: Alexis Barton, Jamison Barton and Brooklyn Foster.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Stan Cragg officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
