James Roy Henson, 64, of Bono, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born in Jonesboro, James was a 1968 graduate of Nettleton High School and was a life-long resident of the Jonesboro-Bono area. He was retired from General Electric in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist faith. James enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at Greers Ferry Lake. But his greatest joy was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Alice Mouzy Henson, and a brother, Jerry Shaver.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Brown Henson of the home;
1 son, Shannon Henson of Jonesboro;
4 daughters: Amber Henson of Hot Springs, Marca Doyle of the home, Heather (Josh) Brand of Imboden, and Ashley Doyle of Jonesboro;
1 brother, Jimmy (Linda) Henson of West Memphis;
4 sisters: Shirley (Larry) Cooper, Susan (Joe) Baltz, and Brenda Ausburn all of Jonesboro and Joyce (Danny) Jackson of Bay;
a sister-in-law: Harriett Shaver of Jonesboro;
4 grandchildren: Hannah Henson, Haven Henson, Natalie Brand and Nicole Brand.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Danny Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Ed Hill, Jim Evans, Dean Jones, Leroy Green, Keith Harp and Josh Brand. Honorary pallbearers include: Ron Mason, Allen Vardell, B.B. Bryant, Gerald Cheshier, Don Cheshier, Doug Oldham, Buddy O’Connor, Jerry Koster and Murl Couch.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in Emerson Chapel.
