James Reid, Sr., 68, of rural Cash, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Born in the Elgin community, James lived most of his life in the Cash area. He retired from Lincoln Manufacturing in Jonesboro with over 29 years of service, and was a member of Grubbs First Baptist Church where he served as usher. James was a member of the Flat Woods Hunting Club and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Stout Reid, and by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Erma Reid of the home;
1 son, James Reid, Jr. and Angel Parrish of Grubbs;
4 daughters and sons-in-law: Kathryn and Ronald Dunman of Cash,
Donna Baugh of Trumann, Lorrie Reid of Minturn and Pattie and Shane Ditto of Walnut Ridge;
1 brother, Henry “Buddy” Reid of Black Rock;
10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 in Grubbs First Baptist Church with John Pollard and Calvin Safford officiating. Burial will follow in Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery near Tuckerman.
Pallbearers include Brent Baugh, Rickey Baugh, Rickey Sharp, Jacob Sharp, Justin Mackey, Calvin Rains, Destry Bagwell and Bill Priddy.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
