James Edward Mitchell

James Edward Mitchell, 81, of Trumann,  passed away on August 9, 2023, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 28, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Jessie and Cristine Mitchell.

James was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann. He had a passion for working on lawn mowers and spent many hours in his yard perfecting his craft. He found immense joy in his family's company and loved going out to eat with them.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Mitchell, and his brother, Robert Mitchell.

He is survived by his sons, Timmy Mitchell (Marsha) and Ricky Mitchell (Marilyn), his daughter, Vicki Miller (Glenn), and his brother, Terry Mitchell (Marsha). He also leaves behind a grandson, Hunter Mitchell (Kate), and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral services will be held on August 12, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church in Trumann, starting at 2:00 p.m., with visitation prior at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Bro. Kenny McMahan, Bro. Bobby Brooks, and Bro. Will Howard. Pallbearers include Brian Gibbs, David Cook, Bo Cook, David Dickens, Doug Timms, and George Dubois. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Mitchell, Terry Mitchell, and Charles Mitchell.
