James Milburn Golden

October 25, 1927 — December 23, 2007

James Milburn Golden, age 80, of rural Jonesboro, Arkansas, died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Madison County, Alabama, James lived in Trumann, Arkansas, before moving to the Jonesboro area in 1961. He was a Timber Buyer in the Logging Industry and was of the Baptist belief.

James was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was preceded in death by a son: Ray Golden, and by a granddaughter: Jessica Russell.

Survivors include:
His wife of 54 years: Lois Austin Golden of the home;

2 Sons and their wives: Milburn Lee and Patti Golden of Jonesboro, and
Jim and Sherri Golden of Burgaw, North Carolina;

3 Daughters and their husbands: Diane and Dewayne Russell,
Sherry and Curtis Tomey, and
Lindy Golden Mashburn, all of Jonesboro;

1 Brother: Dalton Golden of Jonesboro;

2 Sisters and their husbands: Rosalee and Bob Banks, and
Dovie and Jiim Goza, all of Jonesboro;

15 Grandchildren, and
9 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2007, at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Carter Grindstaff and Marty Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include grandsons Michael Golden, Jason Golden, Jeremy Russell, Eric Kent, Jimmy Golden, Jonathan Russell, Dylan Mashburn and Seth Rose.

Honorary pallbearers include: Richard Goad, Larry Austin, Charles Doyle,
Joe Thornton, E.W. Robertson, Joe Watson, and Shane Williams, and Gary Rose.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
