James Lavern Lisk , 76, of Lake City passed from his life Friday, May 22, 2020 at NEA Baptist hospital. He was born to the late James Herbert and Pauline Lisk in Caraway on May 9, 1944. James has resided in Lake City since 1955 after coming from Caraway. He was a member of Friendship Assembly of God Church.
James was CB and ham radio operator for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and gardening. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids and his family.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharron Bell; great granddaughter, Nevaeh Hunter-Marie Lisk, three sisters, Patsy Clark, Jenny Moore, and Betty Gean Lisk; and Brother, Billy Lisk.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy Lisk of the home, two sons, James E. (Jeannie) Lisk of Manila and Davy Lisk of Lake City; daughter, Amber Lisk of Lake City; brothers, Roy (Faye) Lisk of Lake City, Benny (Leslie) Lisk of Jonesboro, and Ricky Lisk of Trumann; three sisters, Loretta (Demas) Trinidad of Lake City, Carolyn Marshall of Lake City, and Donna (Lonnie) Rose of Trumann; grandkids, Brittany Mays, Chad Lisk, Amanda Wilson, Lynn Christine McKinness, Jami Lisk, Davy (D.j) Lisk, Rylee Lisk, Johnathan Lisk, and Mavrick Lisk; great grandkids, Zoey Wilson, Jensen Mays, Sadie Lisk, Sophie Lisk, Eva Wilson, Raelynn Lisk, James Carter Lisk, and Waylon Lisk.
A visitation will be from 10-11 am Tuesday, May 26 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Prairie Cemetery in Lakecity with Brother James Moore officiating. Active pallbearers will be Nathan Hutcheson, D.J. Lisk, Gregg McAnally, Chad Lisk, Rylee Lisk, Johnathan Lisk, Kevin Baxter, Chris McKinness, Larry Wilson, and Al Mays. Honorary pallbearers will be: Eddie Vickers, David Richardson, Maxie Jones, Bill Treat, John Parsley, and the Members of Friendship Assembly of God and friends of Lake City First Assembly of God.
We will be following the CDC and Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. Only 50 people including the family will be allowed in the building at a time. A face mask will be required upon entering the building and social distancing will be enforced.
