James E. "Barney" Liles

James E. “Barney” Liles, 63, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born December 12, 1952 in Jonesboro to the late Robert Lee and Charlsie Jones Liles. James was affiliated with Magnolia Road Baptist Church for many years. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, and gardening. James was loved by his family and friends and will be missed dearly.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Lee Liles and his sister, Cora Jean Liles.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ann Liles of the home; daughter, Jamie (Teddy) Hall of Jonesboro; brother, David Liles of Fargo, North Dakota; 4 sisters, Wanda (Russell) Hendrix of Jonesboro, Joyce Vigeant of Plaistow, New Hampshire, Janey Connelly of Ft. Smith, Joreene Johnson of Paragould and 2 grandchildren, Trey and LeighAnn Hall both of Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Emil Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
