James J. Kimbrough, Jr., 76 of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday at St. Bernards Medical Center. Coming from Batesville, James spent most of his life in Jonesboro. James loved to read, watch westerns, hunt and fish, garden and bowling. James was a fan of the Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ where he had been an elder. James is preceded in death by his parents, James J. Sr., and Eva Cowden Kimbrough; brothers, Willard, Willis, Harold, Hansel and Hassell Kimbrough; sisters, Vernie Marshall, Ima Kirksey and infant sister, Edna Mae Kimbrough.
Survivors include his wife Pat of 51 years of the home; son, Jim Kimbrough (Jennifer) of Bryant, AR; daughter, Vicki Schisler (Ed) of Jonesboro; sister, Ova Jean Case of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jessica Cooper, Brittany Henegar, Caitlynn and Austin Kimbrough, step-grandson, Cory Schisler; great grandchildren, Christopher, Lily, Case Cooper, and Jayden Nelson; 2 great step-grandchildren, Kylee and Maddie Schisler.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Valley View Church of Christ from 5-7 p.m. Service will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Valley View Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. with Kerry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers include Dan Finch, Allen Finch, David Rickman, Tony Pearson, Mitch Swindle, and David Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Kimbrough, Christopher and Case Cooper, and Jayden Nelson.
