James David “Jay” Kaffka, 85, of Bono, AR passed away Wednesday, April 3rd at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born May 20, 1933 to J A and Ruth Kaffka. He graduated from Bono High School in 1953. He was an original owner of Kaffka Salvage Yard and a Master Craftsman in wood working. He loved building anything out of wood, swinging on the front porch and visiting with family and friends.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters. He is survived by one sister Margie Scarbrough of Jonesboro, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews that loved him very much.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019, in Herman Cemetery with Pastor Randy Stimach officiating, under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation.
Pallbearers will be: Eddie Lard, Dennis Lard, Mark Lambie, Chuck Butler, Derek Lard and Hunter Lard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Ezell, Eric Woods, Richard Baker, Greg Dulaney and Bernard Vanpelt.
