James Franklin Jowers Jr.

James Franklin Jowers Jr., 85, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday morning October 1, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Frank was born on October 23, 1930 in Jonesboro to the late James Sr. and Martha Jowers. He spent his entire life residing in Jonesboro where he was a member of Refuge Church of The Assemblies of God. Frank started his own business in 1959, Dixie Contractors Inc. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling. He was a family man who especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to Frank’s parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sylvia, of 62 years, two sons, Jim (Cheryl) Jowers and Kenny Jowers both of Jonesboro; one daughter, Darlene Jowers Miller (George) of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren: Jessica Joshua, Michael Jowers, Charity Kale, John Adamson, Melissa Smithee, Matthew Miller, and Megan Andrade; and five great-grandchildren: Andrew Kale, Cash Adamson, Soren Nelson, Aurora Andrade, and James Smithee.

A private graveside service will be held at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
