James "Jim" Arden Richie

James “Jim" Arden Richie, 80, of Bay passed from this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center surrounded lovingly with family by his side. Jim was born in Monette, Arkansas on Jan 3, 1939, to the late Claude and Mary Eliza(Humphrey) Richie. Jim lived in Bay most of his life. He was a construction supervisor building schools and hotels all over the country. After retiring from his construction career, Jim owned and oversaw a trucking company for several years. He loved to travel and was always ready for an adventure. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and never met a stranger. James was a member of the Alsup Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, MargaretAnn Richie, two sisters, Laverne and Jessie, and five brothers, John, Oscar, Elbert, Delbert, and Edward.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Griffin of Van Buren, Missouri , his daughters Cathy Coke (Tony), Sharon Harper, and Jammie Williams (Billy) all of Bay and Carolyn Emerline of Jonesboro and LeAnn Pool (Jeff) and her siblings also from Missouri, his brother, Joe Richie (Lorene) of Bay, his sisters, Allene Baldridge(Junior)of Washington State and Martha Schneider (Ron) of Paragould. Jim is also survived by his grandchildren, Devin Nelson (Dylan), Elizabeth Emerline (Austin Gueber), Katie and Brandy Jo Williams, and his great-grandson, Declan Atticus Nelson.

Graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with LeAnn Pool officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Emerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will beTony Coke, Mike Champlin, Marty Champlin, Brad Pool, Jack Griffin Jr., and Jeff McGhee.
