James "Jim" Gallion

September 10, 1943 — May 13, 2009

James “Jim” Gallion, 65, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, May 13, 2009, at NEA Baptist Hospital. He lived his life in Jonesboro and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, a Sergeant in the Army National Guard, and a driller for Gallion Well Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.E. and Ola Mae Gallion.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Gallion, of Lake City; son, Durand Gallion, brother, Bill Gallion; sister Ruth Ann Herndon, all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Etter, and Colton “Alex” Gallion; great grandchildren, Cody Etter, Alexis Etter; two uncles Chuck Norman and Bill Norman; and special pet Raven.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Gary Winters officiating and Emerson Funeral Home handling arrangements. Burial will be private. Honorary pallbearers are Franklyn Abbott, Bobby McDaniel, Kevin Little, and Michael Petty. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time Saturday.
