James Edward Hall, 83, of Weiner, died Wednesday afternoon at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Jonesboro where he resided.
Born in Stuttgart, Mr. Hall lived most of his life in the Otwell-Weiner area. He was a retired rice farmer and a member of the Otwell Christian Church.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Cardinal Masonic Lodge in Weiner and was a member of Northeast Arkansas Shriners. He was a long-time member of the Poinsett County Democratic Central Committee. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry, Sr., and Bessie Bagby Hall; 2 sisters: Margaret Benham and Ruth Brown; by 5 brothers: Meredith Hall, Williard Hall, John Hall, Melvin Hall and Harry (Liz) Hall, Jr.; and by a grandson: Caleb Yeazel.
Survivors include: His Wife: Lucille (Lucy) Dillard Hall of the home;
1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Sandy and Ken Yeazel of Tulsa, Oklahoma;
2 Sons and Daughters-in-law: Myron and Rose Mary Hall of Hot Springs Village, and Ritchie and Kathy Hall of Jonesboro;
3 Sisters: Stella Neely, Lazelle Hansen, and Aileen Lewis, all of Jonesboro;
8 Grandchildren: Jamie Grose of Hot Springs Village, Matthew Hall of Jonesboro, Jennifer Carlin of Little Rock, Emily Moore of Atlanta, Jason Hall of Jonesboro, Jessica Havard of Conway, Erin Anderson of Los Angeles, and Adam Hall of Jackson, Mississippi; and
5 Great Grandchildren: Katelyn Hall, Bethany Hall, Jacob Carlin, Lexi Hall, and Samuel Grose.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bill Griffin and Mitch Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers include: Jason Hall, Matt Hall, Adam Hall, Andrew Grose, Steve Carlin, Jason Havard, Rob Moore and Elliot Anderson.
Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
