James H. "Monk" Jim Freeman

James H. “Monk” Jim Freeman, 65, of Lake City, died Sunday evening at Lakeside Nursing Home. He was a lifetime resident of Lake City, had worked at F.M.C., and was of the Methodist belief.

He is survived by his children, James Cory Freeman, Liberty, Texas, Stephanie Bell, Leachville; his brothers, Gordon Lee Freeman and Jerry Freeman, both of Lake City; and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents,G.E. Jack & Rilla Moore Freeman and his ex-wife, Barbara Owens.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Butch Wilkins, Garry Owens, Danny Strickland, Gordon Lynn Freeman, and Jim Hall.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Lake City High School graduating class of 1963.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
